No it's supposed to show whatever you searched...


This is on the 3rd party sites, so for example cnn.com that gets its advertising via Google's adsense network. Google stipulated they would only serve up Google ads and not competitors ads.

So if I had been searching for a Microsoft Surface then went to cnn.com, I would see Google Chromebook ads and not anything for the Surface. You are blocking advertising revenue and potential purchase of a product by a consumer via only advertising google products or google approved advertisements.
